Amazing Sculptural Furniture
I recently read a book about Wendell
Castle, the sixties pop furniture icon who moved gracefully
into sculptural furniture in the 1980's. It was filled with pictures of
though provoking furniture.
Today I found the website of a woodworker, Subiha Mujtaba,
whose work extends the idea of sculpted furniture. I think she fuses
the two even more successfully than the Wendell Castle pieces I've
seen. Beautiful and fascinating work.

Just found your blog and look forward to catching up...
In a September 2006 posting, you mentioned finding Subiha's website for her sculpted furniture. Not sure where you are located but she works part time at Highland Hardware and Woodworking in Atlanta, GA.
I've met her a few times and she as well as the other artisans are very down to earth and helpful. She even teaches classes there.
Should you get down/up/over to Atlanta - Look them up.
I look forward to your blog and actually came across it while researching the Fibonacci Gauge.
I started a project without any plans and realized half way through it that I should consider proportions at some point.
Thanks again,

Thanks for stopping by. Sometimes proportions will dictate themselves according to the space and use you intend.
Have you used Google Sketchup? It is a great tool for visualizing the finished project and it has a feature that allows you to quickly and accurately create golden rectangles (if that's what you want to do). Even better, it's free.
Good luck with your project!
